Group Therapy

If like many people you’ve had some challenging experiences of groups (family, school, friendship, etc), the idea of group therapy may be daunting.

But group therapy can be a powerful place to learn more about yourself, and how you connect (or avoid connection) with others.

The group helps us turn a mirror on our own process and figure out new ways of relating, and new strategies for managing anxieties we may have in our relationships

Is group therapy right for me?

It may suit you if you find yourself repeatedly running into the same difficulty in relationships; if you suspect how you come across isn't how you intend; if you feel isolated; or if you've done individual work and want somewhere to explore more of your process.

It may not be the right moment if you're in a crisis, or if you need something that begins immediately — groups start when a group starts and all of my groups are closed which means that there are no new members for the duration of the group.

I ask that everyone in the group have had at least a few months of weekly psychotherapy before joining the group, unless you are in Foundation Year of Transactional Analysis training.

If you're not sure, get in touch and we can think about it together.

Everyone joins after an individual assessment session with me, so we can both consider whether the group is right for you at this point, and so you're not walking in cold.
