Individual therapy

Most people arrive at therapy because something isn't working and they've run out of ways to think about it on their own.

Sometimes there's a clear reason — a bereavement, a relationship ending, a change you didn't choose. More often it's harder to name. A sense that you keep arriving at the same place by different routes. That you're managing, but only just. That there ought to be more to it than this.

Depth psychotherapy takes that seriously

Rather than managing difficulties from the outside, we work towards understanding what sits underneath them: the patterns you learnt early and never quite outgrew, the feelings that have been too much to know about, the story you tell yourself about who you are and what you're allowed to want.

I work with a relational lens aiming to create a space of warmth, shared responsibility and profound respect.

Life is not lived in a vacuum. The ways we feel, relate, and suffer are deeply entwined with the world around us. I provide a therapeutic space that honours both your internal world – your dreams, patterns, and inner life – and the external contexts of identity, power, and systemic inequality that shape your experience.

How do I start?

Taking the first step can be daunting. You may have additional questions.

Send me a message to arrange an initial session. I offer this at half the usual fee.

This is an opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work, and for us both to see if we would be a good fit to work together.

I offer mainly long-term working, but do sometimes work on a medium or short-term basis.

Some typical questions are answered here including some thoughts on where to start.
